The Plateau State Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, and Mineral Development is responsible for managing environmental and mineral-related affairs across the state. Working closely with its agency, the Plateau Environmental Protection and Sanitation Agency (PEPSA), the ministry develops and enforces policies on environmental protection, sanitation, and sustainability in line with the governor’s vision for a cleaner and safer Plateau.
It also oversees major international initiatives such as the World Bank–funded ACReSAL project and the EIB–NEWMAP program, both addressing environmental and erosion challenges. Since the administration of Barr. Caleb M. Mutfwang began, the ministry has made significant contributions to environmental management and revenue generation, supporting the government’s broader developmental goals.
